We read a book each month from a list selected by the group members. Often the book is outside our comfort zone and we do not like all the books we read. Our Canasta group is for those who enjoy the challenge of a card game, but using a light-hearted approach, in a warm and friendly setting. It is both an absorbing and an exciting game to play. Every game is as unpredictable as the next card in the pile. That's the thrill of it. Read more

We will read and study poets and poetry, sometimes confining ourselves to individual poets and sometimes adopting a theme. Various other events will be organised through the year including occasional visits to the theatre and other social gatherings. Read more
